Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate commercial insurance applications to determine risk acceptability and appropriate coverage levels.
• Analyze financial statements, loss history, and other relevant data to assess risk factors and pricing considerations.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to gather necessary information and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriting assistants, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and best practices.
• Review and approve policy endorsements, renewals, and cancellations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to underwriting assistants and other team members as needed.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting strategies and initiatives to enhance profitability and growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, policies, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
