DESCRIPTION: C&W participates across the value chain for ESG regionally (advisory to implementation) and C&W India has historically serviced clients on implementation and selectively advice. The team is looking for a Lead to comprehensively build this practice locally in addition to a potential ESG - Centre of Excellence for the APAC region.
The ESG Lead should bring in subject matter expertise on governance, environmental and social issues along with an understanding of ESG and its impact on business, investments, and processes. Â The candidate will provide consultancy services to clients creating and implementing ESG solutions.
The candidate will be required to take a commercially astute and innovative approach to present ESG assessment methodology, build a delivery team, give contextual information, and have discussion to deliver sustainability & ESG solutions across asset classes.
FOCUS AREA: ESG Lead [experience in establishing ESG team for an organization along with a leadership position in Big-4 would be preferred].
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities, creating, and delivering ESG Strategies and sustainability services
Identify and develop business opportunities and builds valued relationships with clients & internal peers
Manage with key external clients, including fund and asset managers, executive teams and sustainability functions
Responsible for executing client related engagements in the areas of ESG Reporting
Assist in developing new methodologies and work in coordination with C&Wâ™s global teams
Responsible for overall client service delivery in accordance with C&W quality guidelines & methodologies
Hire, train and manage the team in preparing necessary business pitches
Partnership to be undertaken with vendors for offering business solutions
Support industry engagement through attending conferences and industry groups and be a thought leader
Develop and lead an internal ESG team coordinating with external partners to execute and deliver client requirements.
Help clients set their ESG strategy and transform the business and be updated with the new development and trends related to the development.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Strong knowledge of global standards related to ESG, social responsibility and impact investing and financial materiality
Qualification: The candidate should have university degree in science, engineering, or other technical disciplines such as data analytics, accounting, etc.; degrees in social topics such as organization, social impact, diversity, equity & inclusion are also eligible. Qualification in environment/sustainability/governance with certification in ESG science is desirable.
Candidates should have a strong passion and background in sustainability topics and/or environmental, social and governance.
