Robert W. Glock Endowed Chair in Management (Internal to the GSM)
Position Overview: INTERNAL RECRUITMENT TO UC DAVIS ONLY. Robert W. Glock Endowed Chair in Management provide additional funding to a current Graduate School of Management academic appointee in the Professorial rank series. The additional funding may support the endowed holder in areas of teaching, research, and service activities directly related to the purpose of the endowment.
The holder of the Glock Endowed Chair will be a senior faculty member in the Graduate School of Management whose specialty is in the area of management and whose distinguished scholarship is nationally recognized.
The initial term of the Glock Endowed Chair is for five years, with the option of reappointment per regularly established University procedures for endowed chair/professorship appointments (APM 191, UCO 191).
The endowment pay out will support the chair's efforts in research, teaching and service and further the mission of GSM and the campus.
It is expected that the holder of the endowed chair will advance appropriately through the faculty ranks on the basis of his/her scholarly activities, teaching, University and public service.
Responsibilities of the Chair:
Engage in teaching and scholarly activities focused in the area of management.
Teach four courses a year in the undergraduate, full time and working professional programs in the Graduate School of Management.
Conduct research on management and perform service to GSM and the broader community in which it is situated.
Provide leadership in the area of management and be fully engaged in activities in GSM.
Enhance the academic and intellectual life of the campus as a whole.
Candidates should be prepared to present a seminar that illustrates the candidate's research and ability to communicate to an audience with diverse disciplinary backgrounds.
