Job Description:
Details of the role and how it fits into the team
Deutsche Bank has bundled its payments acceptance and issuing capabilities under its Merchant Solutions division. The division's products are supporting retail and commercial clients in navigating through challenges related to new and conventional means of payments. The Issuing business line, as part of Merchant Solutions, is driving the card-based payment business of Deutsche Bank. A growth pillar in this space will be the co-creation of new products and solutions with the bank's corporate clients - in so called B2B2C (Business to Business to Consumer) initiatives. Essentially, jointly designed products are marketed to customers of our corporate clients, thereby opening new market segments and platforms for the bank itself. The bank is aiming at a White Label Card Issuing offering, which is developed along key innovation trends in the payments/cards sphere and tailored for the specific needs of our corporate partners. As a Product Development Manager, you will be a key driver of our growth initiatives, working with internal and external stakeholders to bring new card-based payment features and ideas to life.
Your key responsibilities
Steering and managing the design, development and launch of a White Label Card Issuing product
Designing new product features in close alignment with our anchor clients (B2B2C cooperation partners)
Managing projects/workstreams (agile or waterfall) day-to-day, incl. time, scope, risk and budget management
Shaping the end user communication and launch plan for new products/features in close interaction with the bank's cooperation partners
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (incl. clients, service providers/vendors) to ensure project success
Initiating new business development approaches based on opportunities in the B2B2C space
Your skills and experiences
Academic degree with excellent or very good grades as well as an in-depth experience in card-based payments, ideally with direct card issuing exposure
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial services/banking, at least partly in client-facing roles
Track record in managing complex projects or innovation initiatives with senior management attention
Strong business acumen paired with analytical and business development skills (i.e., identifying new business opportunities and "injecting" entrepreneurial ideas)
Highly driven and motivated individual with proven ability to execute tasks and initiatives
Fluent in German and English (both at least on C1 level)
