Sydney based Repo Trader with responsibility for managing the AUD and NZD repo business. The repo trader is an integral part of the rates trading business, and will provide secondary coverage of all AUD rates pricing (Cash and Derivative). In addition, to the key responsibilities this role has a lot of scope for involvement across the broader FIC business, including considerable interaction with stakeholders across sales, syndication and treasury.

Your key responsibilities:
Managing the AUD and NZD repo books
Covering short positions in all AUD and NZD fixed income product - Government, Semi Government, SSA and Corporate
Financing long positions and managing the secured financing position in co-ordination with Treasury
Proactively and efficiently managing collateral to optimise funding and business metrics
Providing repo pricing to facilitate both client driven and interbank business.
Developing new repo business working closely with sales (onshore and offshore) and trading
Risk management of the repo book and optimisation of the repo balance sheet
Trade ticketing and booking
Managing the allocation of costs to internal bond books
Representative for the AFMA Repo committee. Meets quarterly to discussion various industry and product issues/developments
Client interface. Contact point with repo clients including the RBA in the domestic market to maximise product penetration.
Providing secondary risk management and pricing coverage across Australia derivatives and cash
Special Projects
Driving various new business projects - such as tri party repo and collateral optimisation
Create value add MIS related to customer flows to drive new business in bonds and repo.
Liaise with relevant internal departments domestically and offshore - trading, sales, operations
Your skills and experience:
Minimum 6year experience in a similar Repo Trading role covering short positions in all AUD and NZD fixed income product
A strong understanding of the Australian debt markets
Degree qualified with a finance, mathematical or equivalent major
Strong technical skills. Proficient in excel and VBA.
An eye for detail and an ability to multi-task efficiently
A willingness to learn quickly and become accountable for decision-making.
Strong fundamental and technical knowledge of Finance.
