The Dental Health Programs prepare students as dental professionals who have the skills required to be competent members of the dental care team, deliver quality dental health care to the public, have the knowledge to pass national licensure and certification examinations and are committed to professional development through life-long learning.
The Dental Health Department is looking for dynamic, skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. Dental Health adjunct faculty demonstrate competence in clinical skills, lecture and lab instruction and responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Dental Health Programs and the College.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
Work collaboratively with others in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences.
Instructional Skills:
Plan, develop, present, and modify courses from proposal, to syllabus, to delivery (classroom, hybrid, or online), to assessment, to evaluation.
Teach assigned courses
Convey knowledge and skills effectively to students.
Continue professional development as an educator.
Use advanced technologies to expand student resources and learning opportunities.
Assess student learning according to best practices in measurement of student performance objectives and outcomes.
Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in pedagogical approaches to a diverse population of students and peers.
Provide teaching in clinical, laboratory and didactic settings in the dental health programs.
Demonstrate commitment to providing academic support to students and provide remediation as needed
Provide direction for dental health faculty, students and patients in a medical emergency.
Diagnose dental clinic patient oral conditions and make referrals, as needed.
Administer local anesthesia when necessary in the clinical setting.
Prescribe and review clinic patient radiographs as needed.
When necessary, collaborate with clinical faculty to determine if dental hygiene treatment can proceed safely.
Participate in accreditation activities.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a DDS or DMD in Rhode Island is required.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience is required.
Current certification in CPR at the Health care Provider level is required
Documentation of current malpractice insurance
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
Competencies:
Previous teaching experience at a CODA accredited institution, preferred
Campus Location: Primarily located at the Lincoln Campus

Salary Range: Starting contact hour rate: $97.10
