About our client
Our client is a global private equity fund with a solid presence in the industrial real estate throughout Mexico. The fund has created an exciting new position as a Deputy Controller. You will have an opportunity to lead a team overseeing day-to-day operations. The role is based in Mexico City or Mexico City. What the job involves
Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly, and year-end financial statements under IFRS
Ensure timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial information
Manage the monthly and annual audit reports and documents
Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process
Track payments against budget and forecasts
Review and analyse existing policies and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to senior management
Review compliance reporting
Supervise and develop staff (establish performance standards and expectations for staff and review work assignments both in-progress and when completed)
Manage external consultants, service providers, and commercial counterparties, including auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors
Who we are looking for
Solid experience in accounting management, tax and/or financial reporting. Knowledge of the real estate sector is desirable
Ample knowledge about IFRS, international accounting, MEX GAAP, and tax
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Experience building and leading high performing teams
Exceptional interpersonal and team leadership skills
