Who we are looking for Investment Portfolio Team, a unit of Global Treasury, plays a critical role in managing the bank's ~$100 billion investment portfolio in order to generate income and meet State Street's liquidity and collateral needs pursuant to its balance sheet strategy.
The global investment portfolio team is comprised of portfolio managers, traders and credit personnel across the U.S., Europe, India and Australia.
The candidate will be part of the portfolio management team responsible for developing the investment portfolio strategy and allocation of investments across multiple asset classes and currencies.
This is a visible role and the individual is expected to collaborate effectively within the team and across organizational functions including Finance, Treasury, Risk, and IT.

The Portfolio Manager/Trader role will join the Global Rates team to build upon this vision to continue the investment strategy and portfolio positioning around key risks, such as duration, spread, liquidity, and currency in the global Sovereign, Supranational and Agency (SSA) markets leveraging both cash bonds and interest rates swaps.
The focus will be on US ( including US TIPS) and Canadian rates with a growing coverage in emerging markets such as Brazil and Mexico.
What you will be responsible for Portfolio Managers are responsible for strategy, sector allocation and security selection in their area of responsibility. This role includes market execution. Main responsibilities include:
Develop a relative value outlook on global rates/SSA sectors and derive market insight and a forward looking view within responsible sectors to guide the investment process
Trade on behalf of the investment portfolio in global rates/SSA markets with a focus on USD and CAD
Deep understanding of macroeconomics and market data and have ability to timely translate these insights to investment views in global rates space.
Communicate global rates strategy and macro-economic development to the broader investment teams
Developing active investment strategies in USD/CAD Government and SSA markets, working with global rates team to develop global relative value and out right duration strategies
Work with Credit Research Team and Quantitative Analysts to buy and sell securities on behalf of the portfolio within responsible sectors
Ensure investments are in line with volumes and metrics specified within the sector's investment strategy
Prepare reports on strategy, market developments, and portfolio risk exposures to communicate with Senior management and other stakeholders
Work with the Credit Research Team and various risk management groups to develop, size, and rationalize Credit Risk Guidelines ("CRGs" - risk limits) and manage the Investment Portfolio within these established risk limits
Responsible to monitoring portfolio positions and recommending strategic changes in line with markets movements
Excellent analytical skills and Innovative and solution orientation
Team players who must show the willingness to work with global teams across time zones
Exposure to EM regions such as Brazil and Mexico is a bonus
Working experience on Python, R or similar is advantage
Education & Preferred Qualifications
BSc from a quantitative disciplines, economics or finance degrees
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
Previous relevant investment experience is an advantage

Salary Range: $110,000 - $185,000 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
