The objective of the Operational Mapping Program is to own and govern a dataset which maps all of the Firm's inter-affiliate service relationships for the Firm's operating and service entities, as well as business processes performed and the resources required to execute them. This data is leveraged for numerous use cases including Regulatory Reporting, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Business Continuity Planning, Operational Resilience Testing, Non-Financial Risk Self-Assessment etc.
The primary function of the Framework Program Lead is to facilitate compliance with Operational Mapping requirements. The candidate will need to become a subject matter expert on current and emerging program requirements, including understanding the regulatory drivers of the Operational Mapping use cases. The candidate will coordinate with stakeholders around the Firm to ensure the Operational Mapping data is fit for purpose and accurately maintained.
The Framework Program Lead will work with the wider Operational Mapping Team & Technology to drive the maturation of our Operational Mapping capabilities. The candidate will leverage stakeholder relationships and subject matter expertise to help guide the prioritization of program needs, ensuring our capabilities evolve to support a changing regulatory landscape. Additionally, the Framework Program Lead will support the maturation of our Operational Mapping capabilities with a goal of increasing data quality and efficiency, leveraging modern technology solutions such as semantic knowledge graphs, machine learning etc.
Responsibilities
1) Operational Mapping Program Leadership â?¢ Lead the global team of 5 full time employees in various locations (Budapest, Mumbai, Baltimore) â?¢ Assist in the articulation of services in a common language (service taxonomy) that have been adopted in legal documentation, cost allocations/invoicing, and supplier risk management â?¢ Understand how services are provided and received between Legal Entities, Businesses and Support Functions using this common language â?¢ Educate our stakeholders in the regulatory drivers and functional requirements of the Operational Mapping Program to drive accurate, fit for purpose data collection efforts
2) Data Analysis & Reporting â?¢ Develop / Facilitate reporting of Operational Mapping data to satisfy regulatory reporting on an ad hoc basis â?¢ Perform quality assurance on the Operational Mapping data, providing appropriate challenge to drive high data quality â?¢ Mature our machine assisted capabilities to systematically gather, challenge and enrich declared data using additional data sources
3) Stakeholder Relationship Management â?¢ Facilitate training to newcomers to the program and existing end users on a periodic basis â?¢ Establish and maintain relationships with partners in Legal, Compliance and various risk programs to maintain a complete and current understanding of the regulatory requirements & Firm Policies/Procedures that drive Operational Mapping requirements â?¢ Lead and/or participate in various stakeholder forums including working groups, steering committees etc.
Skills Required/Preferred â?¢ B.A. or equivalent degree. Preferred fields are Management Information Systems (MIS), Finance, Statistics, Economics or a related quantitative discipline â?¢ 4-7 years of work experience is required â?¢ Cross-discipline and geographical stakeholder management with commensurate experience â?¢ Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken â?¢ Logical thinking, ability to analyze complex sets of data and convert to meaningful risk reporting â?¢ Detail oriented â?¢ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint â?¢ Some level of experience with a query language (e.g. SQL) and relational databases would be an asset
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $83,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
