Who are we looking for? The Payments and Banking platform is undergoing several changes in keeping State Street's strategic and client needs. As a result, we are looking for a senior software development engineer well versed in Web application development using JAVA, Node.js and Oracle. Knowledge of cash position management systems or payment initiation system is desirable. The candidate will also provide technical leadership and co-ordinate work effort with other teams in a variety of locations globally. The position requires effective communication and technical skills with a willingness to learn and implement best of breed tools and solutions. The candidate must be willing to engineer solutions, work on new technology projects and improve the current web application stack. Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience developing web applications in an agile SDLC.
Basic Qualifications:
Work with business and IT Leads to develop strategic design and code for cash position management / payment initiation functions.
5 - 8 years' experience developing financial applications with test driven development using Java/J2EE, CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, Autosys)
As necessary, develop and peer review java code and oracle stored procedures.
Build integration solutions across heterogeneous platforms
Work closely with business users as well as Development, Quality Assurance, and Infrastructure teams
Receive and analyze requirements and propose suitable solutions that adhere to the team's working methodology
Communicate with senior management, developers, architects, and end users, who may be based in different locations and time zones
Understands complex processing needs and cloud infrastructure of web applications.
Candidate should be a Bachelors or Masters in CS, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar
Essential Skills:
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining complex solutions in java
Demonstrated experience with Messaging frameworks including JMS, MQ, Kafka, Aeron
Experience with relational databases (Oracle)
Experience with Node.js or any other UI framework
Experience with build tools including Git, Maven, etc.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to receive and analyze requirements
Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal planning, and analytical skills
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle for Iterative, Agile, and traditional approaches
Experience with release management
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer science or related field
8+ years using J2EE, Java and SQL.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
