The Global Reconciliation Utility (GRU) is responsible for defining and executing a common operating model that delivers a scalable and controlled service offering, supporting reconciliation production globally. The organization is leading a significant, multi-year transformation effort targeting risk remediation, cost efficiency, standardization and simplification of our recon processes and platforms across Operations.
GRU is geographically aligned to a 'follow-the-sun' model with Citi Solution Centers supporting all regions and business lines. The organization's footprint spans across 10 Countries and facilitates reconcilement of over 41 billion transactions per annum.
This role requires a good understanding of the industry, and direct competitors' products and services, which are necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of Operations' overall reconciliation strategy and alignment between GRU and all relevant lines of business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Determines approach and strategy of organizational structure and implementation strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Full responsibility for management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. This will directly report to the MD / Global Head of Recon Unite and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Front-to-back accountability for design, execution and on-going management of a central reconciliation reporting solution
Design the structure and governance of Key Risk and Performance Indicators across the reconciliation lifecycle
Develops new analytical concepts and approaches to solving issues affecting business/ geographic region or a major segment of it
Design a common reconciliation workflow solution in partnership with Operations, Finance and Technology; Accountable for implementation
Supports a wide range of internal clients (Product, Operations, and Finance) and manages multiple high priority visible projects
Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation.
Reviews and analyzes data on operations productivity, risk and efficiency; makes strategic decisions on solutions and improvements; presents recommendations to organization and senior management
Works as a strategic professional who anticipates and designs changes to reconciliation reporting in line with business systems, trade flow processes and tools within an area of expertise corresponding to pre and post settlement processes and transaction capture activities.
Applies broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas (all aspects of the trade lifecycle) as well as underlying business principles.
Maintains detailed understanding of the business and applies industry and market knowledge to drive improvements within the functional area.
Requires advanced judgement and conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to structure and solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions

Education:
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master's degree and managerial experience
