About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst, Global Fixed Income Fund Ratings to join our Fund Ratings Team in Chicago or Englewood, CO. The successful candidate will possess the ability to undertake rigorous analytical work and will be skilled at performing fixed income mutual funds credit analysis and conducting research and writing analytical reports based on fundamental analysis.
Responsibilities and Impact:
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the ratings on a portfolio of money market and bond funds, including fixed income ETFs, LGIPs and SMEs, as part of a team led by a senior analyst, and other experienced team members with a large focus on 2a-7 funds domiciled in the US.
The candidate will be required to prepare extensively and lead meetings with senior management teams to extract and assess information relating to a money market and bond funds' credit quality, and to explain our credit rating opinions verbally and in writing. Strong presentation and organizational skills are also required to present clear, detailed information and reasoned opinions to our credit rating committees.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 85,700.00 to $ 170,400.00 . Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We're Looking For:
Prior experience with fixed income mutual funds is strongly preferred; however, a background as a credit analyst in other sectors within financial institutions or insurance would be considered. An ability to quickly absorb, analyze and act upon new information is essential.
The successful candidate will be adept at navigating in an environment which stimulates continuous improvement and innovation, and the highest customer service standards while adhering to established ratings criteria, methodology, policies and procedures. The candidate will be able to demonstrate analytical excellence, and strong presentation skills in front of senior external and internal audiences, and rigorously maintain and enhance the quality and timeliness of our analysis.
Basic Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience within an asset management company, financial services firm, including a commercial/investment bank working in the field of credit or financial analysis of U.S. and/or Canadian companies
M.A. or MBA within Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Mathematics, preferred
Have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, and understanding of the details of banking functions
An ability and desire to learn and drive their own analysis and research
Able to work in a collaborative work environment
Be computer literate having strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills.
Ability to prepare forecasts based upon reasoned assumptions will be required.
Possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as the capacity to expand learn and to make a contribution
Be willing to travel, sometimes with short notice
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
CFA accreditation a plus.
