The Morgan Stanley Financial Planning Analyst position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with Financial Advisors to provide in-depth insight into wealth planning strategies for the firm's clients. In this role, the Financial Planning Analyst will utilize Morgan Stanley's innovative planning tools to drive goals-based Wealth Management for Financial Advisors and their clients. In partnership with Morgan Stanley's Financial Planning Directors and Wealth Advisor Associates, this position will play a key role in assisting Advisors with incorporating sophisticated solutions into a client's financial picture to meet their long-term objectives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate financial plans for clients utilizing Morgan Stanley's state-of-the art Wealth Planning Solutions
Leverage and action information acquired during financial planning and client discovery conversations with Financial Advisor
Assist Financial Advisors with helping their clients articulate their financial goals within the context of their investment strategy
Maintain and monitor client status against existing financial plans
Partner with Wealth Advisor Associates (WAA) and Financial Planning Directors on training, tools, etc.
Drive goals-based wealth management strategy with Financial Advisors and their clients
Coordinate with firm specialists to ensure the team is leveraging all relevant firm initiatives
Leverage financial planning tools to drive Net Acquired Assets (NAA) growth
Complete proprietary training in wealth planning disciplines, investment strategies, and product suitability
Actively engage in other available training and education programs, including firm strategic priorities and professional development, and stay current on policies, procedures and new platforms
Regularly seek opportunities to use firm resources for peer sharing and collaborating with Financial Advisors
Proactively participate in firm initiatives directed by local management
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
Education and/or Experience
5+ years of work experience in a field relevant to the position required
Bachelor's degree or professional certification preferred
Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA)
Complete and maintain internal Financial Planning Associate designation
Willingness to obtain CFP and/or CPWA designation
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of Financial Planning and product knowledge preferred
Knowledge of applicable compliance rules and regulations and firm policies
Exemplary communication, presentation, time-management and organizational skills
Proficient at listening to client needs and skillfully constructing tailored financial solutions
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
