The Enterprise Computing NetBackup Operations Level 3 team is responsible for maintaining and protecting business data and disaster recovery using a combination of the latest innovative technologies and operational tools.
Responsibilities: - The NetBackup operations team core function is to serve as the highest level of escalation for the Level 1 Command Center and Level 2 operational teams. - Provide level 3 escalation & on-call support for in house developed software and 3rd party products for a large global distributed environment. - Proactive health & hygiene tasks to maintain operational stability and compliance for risk & control programs to ensure the production environment is not put at risk. - Collaborate with engineering teams to test and certify new hardware & software products and engage with clients to understand business demand, needs & support during outage scenarios. - Weekend project work responsibilities to on-board new backup assets for growth or large programs such as new datacenter build outs.

The ideal backup operations candidate has a proven history of supporting backup technologies into a predominantly Linux enterprise environment, strong communication skills, and is a highly organized self-starter who adds value by listening & responding to the client needs. Supports Afterhours/weekends on-call support.#LI-SK1 Required skills: - An equivalent of at least 3 years' experience - Strong working knowledge of the storage industry for both off-line, on-line and related storage technologies is essential (e.g. Backup, Storage Array, SAN & NAS technologies). and a comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP & associated technologies (NFS, CIFS, NIS, DNS). - Competent scripter to support in-house developed tools and products. - Ability to troubleshoot, resolve complex problems, with a *fix it once for everywhere* and automation mentality. - Strong communication skills and a sense of global ownership are required. High levels of motivation, initiative and a proactive or 'self-starter' approach to work is essential.
Hands on experience and working knowledge of the following technologies: - Veritas Netbackup 8.x and 10.x - Storage Array technologies - SAN switches and Fabric OS - Solaris and Linux (Red-hat) - AdvancedDisk with SLP - IBM high-end Tape library LTO8 - NetBackup Flex Appliance
