About our client
Our client is a family office who operates an exclusive complex of residences and restaurants designed for culinary enthusiasts. They are currently seeking for a Director of Finance who can oversee the finances of operations that include a broad range of business units. The ideal candidate brings knowledge and experience in finance for high-end hotel properties. The position is based in Los Cabos. What the job involves
Support the staff to ensure accurate accounting and timely reporting to management, corporate offices, and owners in accordance with GAAP
Analyse the financial data of the operation to advise management about the value and benefits of internal controls
Maximise profitability by giving recommendations and interpretations of financial data to department heads
Ensure that all licenses, permits, and insurance policies are current, up-to-date, and in accordance with local, departmental, and national laws
Prepare the cash flow statement and the statement of changes in financial position
Carry out financial oversight of the reserve expenditure process; ensure reserve projects are carried out according to the critical path and financial projections
Reflect all the assets and liabilities on the balance sheets of the resort
Manage relationships with internal and external service providers
Oversee the entire accounts payable and payroll process
Identify opportunities for improvement by reviewing current processes for automation, consolidation, or reengineering
Manage the annual internal and external audit, monthly cash flow, and all the inter-entity activity
Who we are looking for
Solid experience in accounting, SOX compliance, reporting and customer service in high end luxury resorts
Experience with time share operations
Solid grasp of Oracle and ERP systems
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
MBA and/or CPA is desired
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a must
Analytical, organized, technical and detail oriented
