Position Description:
The Asia Investment Operations Specialist proactively and accurately manages a variety of investment operations activities. The role involves cash/liquidity management, collateral margining, asset set up, derivatives confirmation, claims management, coordination of portfolio transition events, and account management servicing. The position involves daily interaction with Portfolio Managers/Traders, Trade Compliance, Client Facing Professionals, Back Office Operations, Custodian Banks and Brokers. The candidate will support the Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong trading desks covering APAC markets. The role also requires direct interfacing with Middle Office/Project Management & Onboarding/Operations staff and other teams located around the globe. This position requires assertiveness, acute attention to details, and an aptitude for managing multiple competing priorities with minimal oversight or direction. Additionally, this position requires agility in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Daily Tasks:
Run cash investing and liquidity models/report for Traders
Agree/dispute collateral margin calls and facilitate pull backs on excess collateral
Address inquiries from Portfolio Management and Account Management Teams
Assist with the oversight and resolution of trade settlement issues, fails, and claims
Perform daily asset setup function of various securities, such as, bond, derivatives, and equities
Perform derivatives confirmation on the MarkitWire platform (MW)

Leading projects and initiatives to enhance PIMCO's operational and trading capabilities
Research and resolve inquiries from internal and external groups
Building and/or supporting the development of metric reports that pinpoint areas or risk to be presented to senior management
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred
4+ years of work experience in the investment management or financial service industry
Good experience of product knowledge in processing and settlement of various financial products (Fixed Income, Forex, Derivatives, Repos, TBAs and Equity products recommended)
Possesses good knowledge and experience in either cash and collateral management, Asset set up (reference data knowledge), transition events handling, claims management or Asia markets onboarding will a plus
Experience in managing processes, prioritizing multiple tasks within a fast paced, high pressure environment, and meticulous to details
Experience in managing internal stakeholders (Front Desks, AMs) and external stakeholders (Custodian Banks, Brokers, outsource service providers, etc)
Experience in working with Bloomberg trade order management system, DTCC DS Match, MarkitWire and novation consent platforms desirable
Strong working knowledge of Excel and MS computer applications; Experience in database knowledge, SQL, Macros, Python programming knowledge will be a plus
Able to work independently and across various teams, intuitive and a quick learner
