Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. Reporting to the Group Chief Credit Officer, Quality Assurance (1) assesses compliance with credit policy, procedures, and relevant regulatory guidelines through the review of risk-based samples of IBG credit memoranda, (2) enables continuous improvement via feedback provided to Group Chief Credit Officer and other stakeholders, and (3) acts as a boundary spanner that spreads best practices and learnings among the different credit units in the locations to continuously raising the bar on how we conduct our work within Credit
Responsibilities
Set the global strategy for and lead the implementation and ongoing delivery of a robust Credit Risk Quality Assurance function
Assess the quality of credit risk management process bank-wide for corporate credit.
Evaluate origination, underwriting, monitoring and risk rating integrity based on compliance with credit risk policies and regulatory requirements,
Advise first and second line of defense teams to formulate and agree time bound resolution plans to address findings and incorporate these into training programs to ensure consistency in underwriting and credit portfolio management across the organization.
Identify emerging risks and gaps in the credit risk management process.
Act as a change agent coaching teams in areas with noted deficiencies and sharing best practices.
Enhance management information reporting by including new risk and control monitoring metrics that provide insights and trends to mitigate gaps
Requirements
At least a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
At least 15 years of financial services experience including credit experience in corporate, commercial, or retail banking
Experience with credit products across multiple asset classes and within large banks
Fully conversant in credit policy matters with proven sound judgment
Relevant experience/knowledge in a similar role is desirable
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues
Strong project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence without direct authority
Motivated, self-driven and taking a hands-on approach
