Our client is a young group of timber construction companies. Embracing a buy-and-build approach, their aim is to establish themselves as a key national player in the industry and pioneer sustainable construction initiatives. To achieve this goal, the green structures team is leveraging their extensive experience in founding and expanding businesses. They are currently seeking a Finance Director to join them in this exciting phase of growth, tasked with establishing a modern financial structure at the holding level. We are looking for an experienced financial leader with strong analytical and excellent communication skills, who is motivated to actively shape the future of this emerging company in a dynamic market environment. The position will be based in Munich, Germany. What the job involves
Acting as a sparring partner to the management team
Establishing modern financial and accounting processes and structures at the holding level
Providing relevant information, detailed analysis and background to underlying business performance, external benchmarks and insights to support decision-making, including the preparation of meaningful reports and presentations
Responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB (including future consolidated financial statements), as well as for investment controlling (in collaboration with the finance and accounting departments of the subsidiaries)
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timely delivery of financial statements by the subsidiaries
Planning and forecasting at the group level
Driving the digitisation of the finance function and establishing IT interfaces with group companies
Continuously improving and optimizing finance processes as well as controlling instruments and tools
Collaborating and engaging with banks to explore potential avenues for future debt financing
Serving as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors and other stakeholders
Who we are looking for
University degree, ideally in business administration, finance, or related disciplines
Relevant several years of professional experience in a controlling and/or accounting position at group level or in a comparable role
Strong knowledge of HGB and experience in establishing holistic financial organizations (accounting, controlling, tax, treasury)
Prior experience in an audit function would be advantageous
Experience in implementing a buy-and-build strategy is appreciated, as well as prior experience with private equity investors
Strong IT affinity and experience with modern BI tools and office applications
High precision in work combined with a pragmatic approach
Entrepreneurial mindset, with a high degree of initiative, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach
