Team / division overview
The Real Estate division of DWS is a full-service Real Estate manager with approximately EUR 60 billion AUM globally. DWS Real Estate acquires and manages investments in individual assets or Real Estate portfolios on behalf of funds and separate accounts.
The US Real Estate franchise is responsible for the origination, acquisition, asset management and disposition of Real Estate assets across the US for both Debt and Equity strategies. The team works on diverse tasks across various Real Estate asset classes such as office, industrial, retail, logistics, hotels and residential schemes.
Role Details
As an Underwriting Associate for Real Estate Debt, you will be responsible for:
Providing support across all stages of a transaction, including, but not limited to underwriting, market research, property tours, term sheet drafting and negotiations, investment committee memorandums, closings, and client meetings and events
Supporting origination, financial modelling/underwriting, term sheets, due diligence, loan document review, and closings across all property types and geographies
Performing in depth market research, comparable sale reviews, lease analyses and sponsor diligence
Preparing comprehensive investment committee memos and presentations, outlining investment rationale, deal returns, and key execution risks
Attending debt platform investment committee meetings and present findings to committee members
Supporting asset management through review of borrower quarterly reporting and loan covenant compliance.
We are looking for :
Proven experience of fundamentals relating to Real Estate Credit from either an Investment Bank, Private Equity firm or other relevant institution
Strong quantitative, financial analysis and modelling skills including Excel and Argus
Exceptional time management and prioritization are necessary to succeed in a fast-paced environment where you will be required to manage multiple projects with significant responsibilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels are keys to success
Must be able to work well in groups but also take ownership of tasks
Attention to detail as well as a strong desire to grow and succeed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of integrity and ethics. Demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity; always seeking new approaches and challenging the organization to new levels of success
Educated to degree level in a Finance related discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or an acceptable level of industry experience

The salary range for this position in New York City is $93,000 - $179,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
