Who we are looking for
An experienced Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk Manager to manage financial risks arising from Global Markets activity. This encompasses FX Sales and Trading, Securities Finance business, and any new business within Global Markets. You will be part of the Credit Risk team and located in Frankfurt, Germany. Credit Risk is an independent bank function, within the Enterprise Risk Management organization, providing governance and oversight of all activities across the Bank that generate credit and market risk exposure. The position will be a key part of the ERM team, providing a unique opportunity for an analyst to work in a dynamic risk management environment.
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for
As Market and Counterparty Credit Risk Manager you will be
Responsible for independent risk oversight of State Street Global Markets (SSGM) businesses, including identification of risks and drivers, establishment and maintenance of risk limits and other risk controls, measurement and analysis of risks, and monitoring and reporting of risks, validation of position data and risk calculations. Substantial interaction with business/traders and other support functions required.
Develop risk management systems (specifying requirements, supporting implementation and testing), prototyping and development of enhanced risk management tools.
Analyze and continuously enhance market risk models and counterparty credit exposure measures, including collateral analysis.
Perform stress testing, identify portfolio vulnerabilities and support the stress testing scenario design process.
Own and maintain the Market Risk framework for Global Markets business, including setting Market and Credit Risk limits within the Risk Appetite for the relevant Committees to be approved.
Acting as Co-chair of the regional Credit and Market Risk Committee.
Keeping abreast of regulatory developments, new products, services, technologies and applications as well as their respective impact on the businessâ?? risk profile.
Developing an understanding of SSGMâ??s strategy, critical success factors, risk profile and potential exposures and drive new product implementations from risk management perspective.
Serving as a subject matter expert, providing on-going direction and consultative advice to the business unit with respect to risk management policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Serving as liaison on Global Markets risk matters with regulators and other external parties.
Contributing and participating in relevant Business Unit and/or Risk Management committees, both regionally and globally.
Develop good working relationships with regional and global colleagues within the global risk organization, SSGM and support functions

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Successfully completed Bachelorâ??s and/or Masterâ??s degree, preferably in quantitative science, physics, mathematics or quantitative finance or a related field, or an equivalent educational background.
Minimum of 7+ years of market risk and credit risk experience on trading products gained within an international and global financial institution.
Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products including Foreign Exchange, securities financing transactions, Treasury and derivatives products.
Additional credit risk experience with financial institutions, corporates or fund structures would be an advantage.
Experience in Legal documentation negotiation beneficial.
Additional requirements
Programming skills (e.g. Python, SQL) preferred
Fluency in English, other European language skills like German beneficial
