Selby Jennings is working closely with a systematic macro hedge fund, as they seek to hire a Commodities CTRM Engineer with a strong background in Python. The successful candidate will help facilitate the delivery of a vendor E/CTRM platform and automate operational processes for their Commodities desk.
Skills:
5+ years of work experience as a backend Developer with a focus on Python (required) and/or C# (preferred)
Experience architecting and building backend applications beginning from the design phase through implementation
Experience with messaging solutions (Kafka, Rabbit, Solace, etc.)
Experience with code optimisation, performance tuning, and testing
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
Understanding of the full scope of application development (authentication, integrating with APIs, build process, testing, validation, state management)
Experience with source code control (Git experience preferred)
Analytical skills - Ability to troubleshoot and logically assess problems and determine solutions
Bachelor's in computer science or closely related field
Preferred Product Experience:
Experience working with at least one major E/CTRM vendor software platform such as Endur, Allegro, CXL, Entrade, Brady etc. strongly desired
Experience of energy / commodity markets with a strong understanding of one or more of the following: US and European Power, Gas, Oil, Coal, Metals, Emissions etc. helpful
Understanding of OTC products such as forwards, swaps, options and swaptions helpful
Understanding of the fundamentals of securities and OTC trades, including lifecycling, asset servicing and position management.
Knowledgeable of transaction reporting, reconciliation, exception management and break resolution workflow.
