The Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Risk Team is responsible for delivering integrated risk management that supports business growth in a balanced and sustainable way based on challenge and oversight of an aggregated financial and non-financial risk profile. This will be done through (i) delivering speed and agility to customer credit decisioning; (ii) continuing to strengthen our portfolio risk management capabilities so that we can proactively manage top and emerging risks and (iii) ensuring accountability is appropriate and clear through streamlining processes, structure and risk governance.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join the WPB Risk team in Australia in the role of Senior Manager, Secured Risk Analytics. This role has primary responsibility for providing the technical skills and analytics to support Senior Manager, Secured Portfolio & Lending Risk to monitor and optimise the performance of the mortgage portfolio, automated decisioning strategies and credit policies, proactively identifying areas and opportunities to enhance portfolio performance and profitability.
Extensive experience in mortgage analytics and automated credit decisioning strategies is essential.
Key responsibilities will include:
Management and monitoring of the mortgage portfolio and related insights via risk-based analytics.
Proactively identify potential high-risk areas and regularly monitor and report portfolio performance to key stakeholders.
Oversee the development and tracking of mortgage models to ensure they are performing at optimal levels.
Provide technical, data and portfolio expertise in support of provisioning and stress testing processes.
Manage the workflow and priorities of the four onshore and two offshore analytical resources within the Secured Risk Team and support the Analysts development.
Work closely with Regional & Global Risk Teams to ensure guidelines and procedures are followed and that best practise techniques are introduced where appropriate.
Manage the review, improvement and where appropriate, streamlining of all mortgage related Risk MI.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory & audit requirements and reporting requirements including identifying implications of regulatory reporting changes.
Requirements
To be successful in the role you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in a Data Science/ Statistical / Mathematical or business based degree.
Strong experience in mortgage risk analytics and portfolio management in a retail banking business across both broker and proprietary channels and a comprehensive understanding of the Australian housing market.
Strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of credit scoring and automated decisioning systems.
Proven people manamagement skills within a data driven/analytical enviroment.
Proven track record in stakeholder management.
A proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
