Description CME Group is currently looking for a Financial Risk summer intern.
This candidate will assist the Financial Risk department on day-to-day activities in support of development efforts for building out risk reporting and automation functions related to trading risk management of US Treasury Fixed Income securities. The Financial Risk team engages with customers and senior stakeholders to monitor and administer market, credit and liquidity risk limits.
Principal Accountabilities:
Design, develop and test Python-based tools and applications for risk analysis and reporting
Implement automated processes using the Google Cloud environment for data collection and risk analysis
Integrate external data sources and API's to enhance risk analytics and support systems
Assist in other ad hoc projects
Develop understanding of key products and business functions within CME Group
Skills / Software Requirements:
Highly analytical and detail-oriented individual who is motivated to learn more about, and potentially pursue a career in, the financial markets or in risk management.
Knowledge of risk management concepts such as duration, convexity, Value at Risk, and financial instruments including fixed income instruments and derivatives
Proficiency in Python programming and experience with relevant packages (pandas, numpy, scipy)
Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal, and data visualization tools is a plus
Relevant coursework is a plus
Education:
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Prefer majors in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science (with a business focus)
Location & Hours:
Internship is local to Chicago, IL (able to travel to office located at 20 S. Wacker Dr.)
40 hours per week with hybrid work schedule
