The NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate in the School of Professional Studies (the "Schack Institute") invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions that may begin as early as Fall 2023. The Schack Institute desires to create a pool of qualified, vetted and approved adjunct faculty to fill semester-by-semester teaching needs with distinguished professionals with broad backgrounds in commercial real estate and construction.
Real estate program teaching opportunities may include the following course areas: real estate finance and investment, affordable housing development and/or finance, capital markets, development, law, sustainability, urban economics and statistics, proptech, entrepreneurship, use of space, ESG; private equity, urban planning & design, public private partnerships.
Construction program teaching opportunities may include the following course areas: construction methods and technology, scheduling, project management, P6, cost estimating, safety management, finance and cost control.
Academic Programs:
The Schack Institute is among the largest and most prestigious educational entities dedicated to the real estate, real estate development and construction industries with over 200 students enrolled in its top-ranked Bachelor of Science degree, and more than 500 students enrolled in its three Master of Science degrees, including: the M.S.in Real Estate; the M.S. in Construction Management; and the M.S.in Real Estate Development. In addition to these degree programs, the Schack Institute has over 1,000 students enrolled across ten continuing education certificate programs, and open enrollment professional studies courses.
Teaching Modality:
The Schack Institute seeks engaging, experienced business professionals, researchers, public and non-profit sector and other well versed in their respective field to teach courses in both our graduate and undergraduate degree programs, as well as in our continuing education and certificate programs. Most courses are taught in-person on our campus in midtown Manhattan, or around Washington Square with some taught virtually online. Successful candidates will be consulted on the particular discipline, degree program, course, and (in-person or online) teaching modality before each semester upon appointment.

In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the contact hour rate for this position is $206.00 for credit courses and $137.30 for continuing education courses. These rates are based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 7902.
Ideal candidates will hold a masters degree and have a minimum of 5-8 years progressive work experience; a demonstrable record of teaching, academic or classroom experience; and significant industry and professional success, honor and distinction. Well qualified candidates without prior teaching experience will be considered
