The role is a strategic global Digital sales leadership position responsible for global strategy, platform, sales and origination, client delivery and profitable growth of the Custody FX product suite within the markets business.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of jurisdictional product plans, strategies, and tactics in coordination with the FX product organization and the Global Custody FX joint venture initiative and the global strategic roadmap.
The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the strategy and development of Custody FX JV globally which will allow the Custody FX business to target new markets, increase share of existing market, drive new product development, take a lead role in client coverage, and achieve profitable growth and increase competitive positioning.
Working with FX sales and partnering with Security Services colleagues to execute local client value propositions, positioning, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
Partner and co-ordinate with our Security Services colleagues to implement the global strategic roadmap including development, product launch, and ultimately marketing to clients
Develop plans and execute functional or tactical strategies for a country, multiple countries, region, or business requiring coordination and integration across units
Manage client and competitor market research and help to develop jurisdictional specific product innovation.
Focus on commoditization of product & solutions to be rolled out across the region
Oversee all aspects of product life cycle management including market demands, technology requirements, execution and client servicing
Contribute with our Security Service colleagues to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities where applicable
Help drive innovation by working with internal and external partners/alliances particularly our Security Services partners to develop products and manage both internal and external relationships as appropriate.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience within the FX & Security Services business
Experience of custody related product development across multi-function and/or global business
Functional experience in product management, specialist sales and/or product development
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Proven track record of active sales and client coverage
Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication and possesses proven analytical skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, to establish rapport, motivate teams, invite contributions, build consensus.
Proven skills in:
Client engagement -in the asset management, insurance and pension sectors
Market awareness - factors driving our clients' priorities and our competitors' behavior in the Custody FX market space
Regulatory understanding - familiarity with Dodd Frank, MiFID II and other regulations directly or indirectly driving collateral priorities
Subject matter expertise - good understanding of related fields such as cash, custody or fund administration, in addition to a strong background in foreign exchange
Planning and management - rigorous approach to prioritization and project management
Service model design - partnering with operations and technology to create effective and scalable service models
Revenue generation - track record in leading or supporting business development
Risk awareness - vigilance for factors driving risk to the firm and to clients
Results orientation - continued focus on delivery against goals
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Candidates for this role are likely to be currently working in a foreign exchange product or sales role, either for a custodian bank or a technology provider and will have 10+ years' exposure to foreign exchange
