Description The Lead Information Developer - Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and managing technical collateral available to clients from our website, focusing on CME Group's award winning CME Globex platform and supporting trading and risk management services while ensuring project quality, and managing project expectations with business owners, developers, and subject matter experts. Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain technical content, diagrams, workflows, and other materials to support the company's global internal or external customers (i.e. User Help System content for CME Group-developed applications)
Kick-off, facilitate, and drive deliverable creation, review, and finalization cycle to ensure accuracy of content and manage expectations of cross-functional teams
Collaborate with content owners and stakeholders to assess change requests and customer feedback for content updates
Test procedural content against requirements and UI test/QA environments to ensure accuracy
Act as effective Product Manager for supported services/tools (e.g. Madcap Flare development/customer-facing website brand standards), as technical and domain expert.
Ability to gain business and technical subject matter expertise in various tools and customer-facing services
Plan and manage User Help feature enhancements and software upgrades across the team
Mentor team members on and improve best practices and processes by researching and applying content strategy techniques
Provide knowledge and project expertise to additional business areas
Deliver and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
Work Product Samples: Candidate must provide writing samples during the interview process demonstrating published customer-facing technical content. Please include digital examples/URLs as applicable.
Minimum of 6 years technical writing or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years experience writing content for front-end application users or developer audiences
Exceptional writing, editing and analytical skills, with proven ability to present different styles to best reflect each message with each audience; ability to explain complex or technical concepts in an easily understandable format.
Ability to learn and assess new technologies and effectively transfer practical knowledge
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Experience producing content about UI functionality or API documentation for customers
Prior MadCap Flare experience
Knowledge of / experience with financial markets (especially derivatives) preferred
Knowledge of or experience with FIX Protocol, FPML, or FIXML preferred
Prior experience creating customer-facing videos leveraging AfterEffects, Audacity, and SnagIt
Prior Confluence and JIRA experience
Previous business or systems analysis experience
