About the Role
Morgan Stanley's Australian Equity Research team is seeking a junior Analyst to join the Equity Strategy and Economics team.
Based in Sydney, this junior Analyst will: - Assist with economic data analysis, equity market valuation and generation of thematic macro ideas - Focus on building and maintaining internal economic and market models - Respond to internal and external clients' requests - Contribute to and develop report writing objectives - Liaise and assist with the broader research division to help develop economic and strategy views
- A university degree (or equivalent) with excellent academic results - Preferred macro research experience in a leading financial or government institution - A strong interest in markets and desire to learn more an advantage - Excellent verbal and written communication - Very strong data management skills. Strong competency with Microsoft Excel is required, other programs and languages (Eviews, Python, R, VBA) an advantage - Exposure to market data systems such as Bloomberg, IRESS, Factset, Haver would be beneficial - Outstanding analytical skills including experience with economics and finance a strong plus - High energy, self-motivated, creative and organized team player - Attention to detail with ability to multi-task and reprioritize a must
