TheRole: Principal Economist
The Team: The Global Intelligence & Analytics (GIA) business unit provides solutions spanning Global Risk and Maritime; Economic Indicators and Forecasts; Trade Compliance; and Shipping Intelligence, all of which are supported by best-in-class researchers, consultants, subject matter experts, data and analytics teams. GIA's Models & Scenarios team is responsible for the development and maintenance of economic models, conducting scenario analysis, and deploying economic analytics to help our clients make better decisions.
The Impact: You will join a team of economists, subject matter experts and data scientists to support clients in the analysis of supply chain risk. You will partner with clients and stakeholders to produce cutting-edge supply chain risk analysis and solutions to help our clients manage their risks in an uncertain market environment.

Responsibilities: ??? Build and calibrate sector-specific supply chain risk models ??? Research and advise on key model design features ??? Work as part of team to deliver client-specific supply chain risk analyses ??? Communicate results and analysis to key internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications: ??? Master's degree in Economics (a Ph.D. would be a plus), with a background in at least two of the following areas: Industry economics, Financial Econometrics or Applied Econometrics. ??? Experience in applied econometrics and advanced forecasting models and methodologies, along with proven competence in handling different types of economic data, including non-traditional sources. ??? Experience with machine learning and network analysis techniques ??? Ability to program in Python or EViews and knowledge of other analytic packages
Preferred Qualifications: ??? Desire to grow your knowledge of business capabilities and to drive innovation ??? Passion for identifying, unpacking, and addressing complex analytical problems ??? Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect and influence clients and colleagues ??? Ability to prioritize, manage, and consistently execute on multiple project deadlines

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $97,800. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
