Job Description Opportunity for a Financial Accountant to play a key role, working across major accounting and ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, for a Global Bank
Contract Duration - 6 Months with the possibility of moving from Contract to Permanent role
Location - Wynyard
Per Day Rate - Up to $500 + Super
Hybrid Working Set up - 3 Days in office and 2 Days work from home per week

About The Job
Reporting directly to the Manager of Financial Control.
This role forms part of the Financial Accounting team with responsibilities for ensuring that business meets and maintains its internal controls framework and financial reporting standards.
Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting framework.
Designing and implementing continuous improvement for Financial Control.
Reviewing all Balance Sheet reconciliations for Branch and Securitisation entities.
The integrity of the general ledger including timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Ensuring adequate application of financial accounting standards in the general ledger.
Preparation of intercompany reconciliations and transactions.
Preparation of IFRS16 and other tasks to enable the close of the month end process.
Financial control related projects and ad-hoc requests.
Build relationships with stakeholders within the business to raise the profile of the financial control team.
About You
CA/CPA qualified.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Macro, Pivot Tables etc.) and PeopleSoft experience (highly advantageous).
Knowledge of accounting and financial control requirements relevant for the Financial Services Industry within the banking environment.
Previous experience in securitisation accounting.
An ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across the business.
Highly developed numerical and analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Local experience in accounting within Australia is mandatory.
