Private Wealth Management (PWM)
Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.
The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) within Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management has responsibility for strategic and tactical asset allocation views and advice for the firm's high net worth clients and certain institutions. The role of an ISG member requires a broad set of qualities, including a passion for investing, client servicing, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
The Tactical Asset Allocation team (TAA) within ISG seeks to generate tactical alpha for clients' portfolios by investing across macro asset classes (equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities). In addition to its investment mandate, the TAA publishes several widely distributed reports and Outlooks each year, and is responsible for disseminating and communicating macro investment vies to the firm's clients.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Assist in researching and identifying top-down, macro-driven investment opportunities in non-US developed equities, with a particular focus on European equity markets and sectors
Employ a combination of fundamental, quantitative and technical analysis tools to do so
Assist the Chief Investment Officer with research projects
Contribute to the communication of ISG's investment views, including in the preparation of reports and presentation materials
Speak to other investors, sector specialists, analysts, and traders regarding market views and investment opportunities
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
3+ years of experience in investment management or investment research, ideally with a focus European equities
Advanced degree in finance or economics and/or CFA a plus but not required
Passion for the markets and investing
Outstanding analytical/quantitative skills
Basic programming skills a plus (e.g. MATLAB, python, R, etc.)
Excellent academic track record
Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
Highly motivated
Intellectual curiosity
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$270000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
