A globally recognised insurer, with a strong presence in the London Market, is looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join their growing, dynamic team on an initial 18-month contract basis, providing the perfect opportunity for a Technical Accounting Manager to develop their experience in accounting standards, particularly UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II.
The Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Supporting the reporting framework across the company, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements and developments
- Performing technical reviews of all statutory & regulatory reporting including: Annual Reports & Accounts, Solvency II returns and Lloyd's returns
- Drawing on the wider knowledge and resources of the team as necessary/ appropriate, including the development and implementation of the new accounting and reporting processes required by IFRS 17
- Liaising with the Financial Controllers, the Head of Finance and Group CFO
The role is looking for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified accountant with experience post-qualification, looking to use their expertise in managing a London Market (re)insurance company or syndicate finance team in order to drive change to existing and new processes by continuous improvements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is highly advantageous, and experience in insurance absolutely essential.
