Title: Quant Researcher

Compensation: 150k-250k base salary + discretionary bonus

Summary: A very successful boutique prop trading firm that specializes in trading energy commodities is looking to bring on a Quant Researcher to work alongside traders and their core research team. This is an opportunity to join a fast growing, non-siloed, collaborative team where ideas are quickly implemented into production.

Location: Flexible between New York, Chicago, and Connecticut

Responsibilities:

• Research new trading strategies and improve existing strategies using sophisticated machine learning and statistical techniques
• Optimize and support existing models
• Create new ideas that impact the way the firm leverages market and alternative data

Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering
• 3-8 years of experience in machine learning, statistics, or related area within finance or a quantitative field
• Strong in Python, C++ or SQL is a plus
• Experience working with large, noisy, or incomplete data sets
• Experience creating mathematical models and complex strategies to solve problems
• Ability to work independently and in cross functional teams
• Familiarity with AWS ecosystem is a plus
• Time series analysis experience is a plus
