The global Commodities Trading Systems team is responsible for developing technology solutions supporting the commodities trading business from front to back through the derivatives' entire lifecycle.
The system supports feeding trade/order executions, including both exchange traded trades and bilateral over-the-counter trades into Morgan Stanley commodities trading systems in real-time, managing the lifecycle of derivatives from order creation to trade executions and post execution management throughout lifecycle events management such as traded-at-settlement, pricing, rate set, price locking, amount overridden, listed trades pairing, future expiry, swap takedown, option exercise, financial settlement and etc.
The trading system covers multiple commodities business lines including Oil liquids, Natural Gas, Electricity, Metals, Agricultures and Index etc. In terms of the trade types, it handles lifecycle for futures, swaps, basis swaps, various Options, OTC derivatives, exotic trades and physical forwards trades.
There are constantly new requirements for changes in Commodities trading systems in order to enable the new business, meet regulatory demands, address the IT infrastructure upgrade requested from external parties such as exchanges, renovate the various critical components of trade system using trended technologies such as Spring Boot, Kafka and cloud deployment etc.???
