The Role: Information Protection Intern

The Information Protection team is responsible for building and maintaining a variety of security services which encompass the integrity and protection of S&P Global's end user computing assets. The team collaborates with the broader Information Security organization to adopt, adapt, and extend Enterprise corporate standards to the employee base at S&P Global while maintaining a frictionless user experience.
The Impact:
As an intern your primary responsibility will be to assist the team in advancing our risk culture by maturing risk management and compliance processes. You will focus on establishing and expanding tools to protect data in the cloud from any location, device or network leveraging a variety of Microsoft Security services.

- Microsoft Suite of Security Tools Microsoft 365 Defender Suite, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO), Microsoft Defender for Cloud Applications (MDCA/MCAS), Microsoft Defender for Cloud (MDC/ASC), Microsoft Sentinel / Log Analytics Workspace
- Implementing device compliance and integrity policies
- Understanding Zero Trust concept and framework
- Understanding identity and Azure AD
Responsibilities:
As an intern with S&P Global DTS/TSG you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to your team and our business, as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity. - Collaborate with senior engineer to address and improve Defender for Office and other security initiatives
- Participate and assist in vulnerability identification, new threat exposures, and emerging security technologies
- Assist in security solutions and technologies to aid and protect the organization's data resources from unauthorized access or meet legal and compliance regulatory requirements

- Fully matriculated students with anticipated graduation date in Fall 2023 or Spring 2024
- Basic understanding of End User Computing and Collaboration services, Windows, MAC, iOS and Android devices
- Scripting experience (Powershell/VB) or other modern language
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation and creative problem-solving skills)
- An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques, and technologies
- The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
Self-motivated. Grade/Level ( relevant for internal applicants only ): 5
The Location: New York, NY.
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base wage is $30. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
