Position Summary:
The Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama is pleased to announce a search for the CCN Endowed Chair in Health Equity. We are seeking a senior faculty member with a well established record of external funding and publications. The scholar's experience could include: health disparities, underserved populations, social justice, public policy, access to care issues or other topics related to Health Equity. He or she will be expected to mentor graduate students and junior faculty, obtain external funding, and support our emphasis on Health Equity . Responsibilities will include participation in teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level. Capstone College of Nursing has over 2,300 students enrolled in programs leading to BSN, MSN, DNP, EdD and PhD degrees. At the MSN level, we offer concentrations for Nurse Administrators and Nurse Practitioners (Family and mental Health). Our interdisciplinary EdD program is designed specifically for nurse educators; and is jointly taught by faculty with expertise in nursing and education. Our online PhD program is offered in collaboration with the University of Alabama Huntsville College of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field and at least three years of teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching in graduate nursing programs. Applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter addressing their research and teaching experience, professional goals, a curriculum vitae, and a list of three or more references. Prior to employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
