The Senior Software Engineer engineer works closely with a variety of engineers and skillsets to execute the strategy for CME's technology solutions. He/she will work with minimal mentoring, to advance CMEG in the global marketplace and serve risk management needs of customers around the world.
Principal Accountabilities: ??? Demonstrates skill in language proficiency; Writes application modules and unit tests with minimal guidance. Designs with guidance and codes independently. ??? Conducts system-wide testing and some integration testing. Helps with developing/ optimizing automated test frameworks. ??? Develop and designs portions and modules of a larger systems ??? Mentors junior developers in their developments skills and helps grow the bench strength to build a strong team. ??? Supports the key metrics defined for software development proficiencies and helps the team implement the best practices defined for cloud migration and cloud native platform development. ??? Exhibits skilled knowledge of database SQL; Performs Elementary database modeling and intermediate database tuning. ??? Identifies potential opportunities for code optimization. Provides input for code reviews and helps with environment build deployments, release notes and build notices; Reviews code to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues and defects and helps to identify sources of defects as well as troubleshoots various forms of code. ??? Uses design tools to frequently share and communicate design ideas on larger systems. ??? Uses patterns frequently, contributing to best practice and process enhancements.
Required Skills - Strong proficiency in Java development - Solid understanding of messaging and high throughput systems - Solid understanding of SQL,. intermediate database modeling and database tuning - Demonstrates solid problem solving skills - Good understanding of distributed systems and associated challenges - Experience with Gitops/ CI/CD technologies and software tools - Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins etc - Knowledge of cloud technologies - GCP, AWS, Azure is helpful - Knowledge of containerization and related tools - Docker, GKE, Ansible, Argo etc is a plus
