The Business Development & Reporting Lead is a strategic professional who will play a pivotal role in the Business Development for key strategic projects for Citi's CGW business and ensure timely reporting across key stakeholders. The role will partner closely across the organization with varied teams and workstreams to onboard strategic partners, deliver unified experiences and develop innovative technology solutions. This role requires in-depth understanding of how business areas collectively integrate as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the CGW business. The candidate should have developed communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence and obtain alignment with key stakeholders. Responsibilities: a) Business Development - Responsible for overall planning, coordination, implementation, execution, and onboarding of strategic partnerships for CGW Asia business
- Collaborate with various functional teams to identify business development and strategic client acquisition partnerships, follow through with assessment, approvals and execution of partnerships
- Develop and document overall project plan to identify and onboard strategic partners and identify key project dependencies. Maintain project deliverables including reporting and tracking status using various standard project management tools
- Communicate to all concerned stakeholder project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential escalation issues. Responsible for identifying/managing project issues/risks and escalations. Articulate problems, bring in the right people together to solve problems and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed
- Support delivery of financial goals for CGW Asia through strategic partnerships and alliances on revenue, with an overall focus on expenses, ROTCE and operating efficiency
- Build a deep understanding of Citi Private Banking business, products, processes, data, and provide a business perspective to project team
- Deliver effective communication and report on overall delivery through partnerships to various levels including executive management and senior leadership
- Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
b) Planning and Reporting - Business planning: Play an active role by using awareness of status of strategic initiatives and key metrics when driving business plans for various strategic partnerships and third-party alliances
- Cross-functional Engagement: Liaise with sponsors and business leads on an ongoing basis to understand needs and priorities as well as to pro-actively manage expectations, buy-in, feedback and resolution of issues. Resolve complex problems or issues, and bring in expertise where required to interpret against policies, guidelines, or processes
- Reporting: Maintain dashboards and drive key metrics across various partnerships and alliances. This role also includes publishing comprehensive ready reckoners to visually show the key metrics senior management is tracking through partnerships
c) Engagement with different stakeholders - Internal: Various functions including legal/compliance, sales/business, third-party onboarding and other governance functions to help smooth onboarding of strategic alliances and partnerships
- SMT: Various SMT stakeholders to show vision of onboarding a partner, prepare a business plan and track performance of partnership post onboarding
- External: Multiple interactions with external stakeholders to identify strategically significant partnerships and drive mutually agreeable results for Citi and the partner
Experience, Competency and Qualifications: - 6-10 years of extensive experience in business development, Reporting and/or Planning preferably in financial services environment
- Ability to multitask and manage a book of work with multiple projects
- Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals and must be strong in establishing and running program governance
- Manage project scope by assessing requirements to develop plans to onboard, determine dependencies, and convey impact on risk and timeline
- High level of expertise in slicing & dicing data using Excel or other tools and good knowledge of PowerPoint to create senior management presentations
- Ability to work with the wide range of individuals involved in onboarding any strategic alliance/partnership and integrate them suitably aligning to Citi's existing policies and processes
- Identification of stakeholders, getting an understanding of their needs and expectations, developing a stakeholder engagement strategy to support business development and strategic alliance team. Drive Citi and partner objectives and ultimately improve the overall results from the partnership
- Ability to create easy to use dashboards & project management experience to drive partnerships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - demonstrate ability and proven track record in building partnerships and relationship management skills including collaboration with geographically dispersed teams to achieve deliverables
Education: - Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
