Vacancy ID: NF0006591 Position Summary/Description: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Kenan-Flagler Business School Real Estate Program is widely considered to be one of the leading real estate education programs in the nation. The Wood Center for Real Estate Studies (WCRES) supports the faculty, academic programs, MBA and BSBA student concentrators, and the extracurricular activities of the Real Estate Program at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The WCRES also actively pursues high profile initiatives in attainable workforce housing as well as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the real estate industry. Finally, the WCRES supports real estate faculty research production and dissemination, as well as a PhD program in real estate finance. The Executive Director oversees daily operations, managing a staff of five individuals. The work of the Center is fully funded through the endowments and gifts of its alumni and friends. The Executive Director is expected to work closely with the Center's Advisory Board (consisting of 20 RE alumni executives) and its Executive Committee. Education and Experience: Prior involvement with an academic institution or scholarly/educational body preferred. Strong ties or an affinity to UNC are desirable as is a passion for making a lasting impact in the space of attainable workforce housing. It is preferred that the person who fills this position will live locally. It is preferred that the candidate have the ability to travel with work at least once each month. We are looking for a person with a proven track record of: involvement in academic endeavors beyond their own education, experience with fund-raising, the ability to manage multiple projects and supervise others, and, especially, the ability to work well as a team builder with a focus on a supportive and collegiate culture.
