We're looking for someone to trade structured interest rate and currency derivatives for a range of financial institution clients, including banks, asset managers and private equity firms
Day-to-day, you'll focus on transactions that often involve rated public securitisation, secured warehouse facilities, and on balance sheet trades

What you'll do
Your daily responsibilities will include you carrying out trading activities on authorised NWM products, according to the strategy and risk appetite of NWM. You'll understand the risk run by the desk and manage your own risk positions within authorised business limits.
Not only will you work closely with your partners in Sales, Structuring and Risk to support the origination, execution, and management of structured product trading transactions, but you'll complete daily risk management of the desk's books by using appropriate hedging instruments.
You'll also be responsible for:
Agreeing transaction pricing and comparing this with transaction risk to form a view on the acceptability of transaction risk and reward
Undertaking the accurate and timely booking and recording of transactions while contributing to the overall product area trading strategy and creation of innovation trade ideas
Focusing on daily reviews of desk activities and the reconciliation of its profit and loss, including flash and actual, and of its risk
Taking all reasonable steps to make sure trading activities are in line with group policies, including market, conduct, operational, credit and regulatory risks
Executing hedging strategies to make sure your own risk limits are not breached while meeting financial objectives, as defined in performance objectives
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll have relevant work experience, including from a placement or internship, in a derivative trading or structuring role. You'll also have a degree, or equivalent, in a mathematical or quantitative field.
Knowledge and experience in structured finance and rates products, as well as programming skills, especially Python, would also be advantageous.
You'll also need:
A proficiency in MS Excel and VBA
Good interpersonal skills
Great organisation skills and a keen eye for detail
