Description The Software Engineer III engineers secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions to advance CME Group in the global marketplace and serve risk management needs of customers around the world.
This position is responsible for developing and supporting a wide variety of systems primarily related to Clearing Financial Management and Banking. The person in this role will work directly with our business users as well as other team members including software engineers and infrastructure engineers to provide first class support.
The candidate must be comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team. In this role you will be presented with the daily challenges associated with building and supporting custom, highly related financial business software and a demanding customer base. A positive attitude and willingness to learn about our systems and customer requirements are essential. The candidate must be an adept problem solver who goes beyond the obvious to investigate issues, ensure that the root cause is understood, and develop and implement effective, long-term solutions.

Strong technical, designing, and system analysis skills; In-depth exposure in designing and architecture.
Design, develop, maintain complex Java applications on Prem and on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) for mission-critical systems and deliver high-availability and performance.
Should be a Hands java developer, with experience working on cloud and on prem applications.
Experience in maintaining, extending existing database design and implementation.
Optimizes code for key performance metrics. Offers complex insights during code reviews and helps with environmental build deployments, release notes and build notices; Identifies source of defects and issues. Reviews code to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues and defects. Troubleshoots own code and helps others find bugs in own code.
Follow agile practice and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
Build and support CI/CD automation pipeline.
Support build deployments and troubleshoot infrastructure and environment related issues.
Collaborate effectively across teams.
Work with other teams to understand business rules and interpret data.
Maintain an on-going knowledge of both the technical data model and the business strategic needs.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant proven work experience that is required for the specific job level.
4+ years Core Java development experience.
Proficient with Spring frameworks and RESTful APIs
Experience with Oracle, Postgres DBMS in an enterprise environment
Experience with Linux and good understanding of OS.
Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication skills
Experience working with financial risk management applications
Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Experience with UC4 and Splunk
Experience coding in a story-driven, agile environment
Experience using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools
Experience using Streaming Technologies such as Apache KAFKA or Google PubSub
Experience with automation and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins & Chef
Exposure to Microsoft Technology stack C#.NET, ASP.NET, MS SQL
