Step into an instrumental in-person role. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced-and friendly-financial planning office. Work as an employee of an independent advisor franchisee with a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial. Assist in daily business operations.
Assist financial advisor(s) and associate financial advisor(s) in managing and organizing office workflow with an emphasis on creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
This role provides client relationship support through interacting directly with clients as it relates to helping prepare for client meetings and interactions, creating and running product illustrations, scribing during meetings, summarizing meetings, placing trades, creating, and tracking deliverables, and owning the overall client experience.
This is a full-time, salaried position. In person/in office expected and required. Office is located in the West End of Richmond, with easy access to freeway
Manage and update client suitability
Create and track new business
Set up new clients as needed
Scribe during client appointments
Complete summary letters/deliverables
Complete money movements
Complete account review and documentation
Complete beneficiary updates
Upload client documents to corporate digital filing system
Maintain responsibility for all components of assigned client relationships
Financial Planning Assistance:
Enter and update client data into financial planning software
Review and interpret financial statements sent in by clients
Complete preliminary investment analysis
Review and prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations for client meetings including:
Life insurance illustrations
Create a dialogue with clients during financial planning process and assist with:
Questions on all financial accounts both within and outside of Ameriprise
Money movement needs
Run reports, close out deliverables, and follow compliance procedures

Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with the personal information of clients
Be technologically proficient with a desire to stay on top of technological changes and advancements
College degree or higher
2+ years of similar experience is preferred
Already have or, able to study for and pass exams for federal and state licenses and registrations for securities within the first 6 months of employment, including: SIE, Series 7, Series 66 (or equivalent), and State life, accident and health insurance license.
