This position is primarily responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, audit support, and financial review for assets held in entities management by the Real Estate Department, including Off-Campus Housing, Commercial Real Estate, Strategic Real Estate and other University holdings.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the accuracy of all tenant ledgers, including rent, payments, late fees and other charges.Â Monitors A/R and pre-paid balances. Helps ensure timely close-out of tenant accounts upon move-out.
Provides correspondence for all accounting-related activity associated with late fees, resolution of delinquent balances, and eviction letters.Â Generates annual CAM and real estate adjustment letters to commercial tenants.Â Monitors and responds to correspondence to the accounting department email account.
Reconciles all general ledger accounts, including A/R, A/P, security deposits, prepaid accounts, and other accounts as assigned. This includes reconciliation of individual Yardi, AIS, Due-to/Due-From and cross-system accounts.
Audit leasing files for completeness and accuracy of online data. Â Assist in audit of inventory stock including periodic counts.Â
Other special projects and duties as assigned.Â
Associates Degree in Accounting or related Business field. Understanding of full cycle accounting and GAAP principals.Â
Experience working with Yardi software.
Capacity to exercise judgment and take corrective action: has a high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.Â Experience working with personal computers: proficiency in spreadsheet applications, word processing & Access.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.Â
A self-motivated individual driven by challenge, with the ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and two years office, payroll, accounting, or business experience.
$18.36 - $28.47 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
