In conjunction with the Trustee Investment Subcommittee, the Tufts University Investment Office (“TUIO”) manages various long-term assets of the University. TUIO is responsible for all investment and operational aspects of running these portfolios, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment manager due diligence, monitoring, performance measurement and reporting.
What You'll Do
The Investment Associate reports to an Investment Director on the senior investment team and works collaboratively with all team members to support excellence throughout the investment process. The primary responsibility for this role is sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investment funds across public/private strategy types from both existing and new manager relationships.
Conduct thematic/market research to identify portfolio opportunities and risks. Source new investment ideas and managers and raise the brand/profile of TUIO through outward branding and networking efforts. Lead/Co-Lead/Oversee qualitative and quantitative diligence efforts on new investments in third-party managers.
Conduct on-going monitoring on a group of current investment managers, document observations and communicate findings to the broader investment team. What We're Looking For
Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses
• Bachelor’s degree plus CFA, MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience required • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative skills and experience related to the diligence of third-party investment managers, drafting of formal investment recommendations, and development of manager monitoring reports • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently • Work experience in Asia and fluency in Mandarin preferred An employee in this position must complete all appropriate background checks at the time of hire, promotion, or transfer.
