This position is responsible for soliciting, closing and stewarding planned gifts made to UCSF, as well as supporting the negotiation and documentation of complex gifts to UCSF.
* You will work toward soliciting, closing and stewarding planned gifts (i) from your own donors/prospects in the SDGEP portfolio, (ii) from other UCSF donors/prospects in collaboration with DO's and (iii) from other donors/prospects as assigned.
* You will partner with UDAR, UCSF leaders and/or UC leaders in the solicitation, negotiation and documentation of complex gifts made to and involving UCSF.
* You will be an ambassador and a resource for planned giving, both internally within UDAR and UCSF and externally to our donor/prospect constituency.
* You will collaborate with the Gift & Endowment Planning team both by contributing your skills to further build our team's efficacy and by leveraging our collective talents to enhance your individual work. Part of your work will be to promote both planned giving in gene Within the first month you will be establishing rapport with the Gift and Endowment Planning team, meeting key GEP partners throughout UDAR, at UCSF and at the University of California Office of the President. In addition, you will learn from your manager and other UDAR colleagues about UCSF's mission, culture, and fundraising priorities, as well as receiving training on UDAR systems, policies and practices. You will also assemble an initial portfolio of gift planning donors and prospects in collaboration with the GEP team.
After six months you will be (i) engaging directly with planned giving donors and prospects (ii) regularly partnering with UCSF colleagues on planned gifts and complex gifts, (iii) comfortable drafting gift agreements for planned gifts and outright gifts, and (v) familiar with UCSF structure, practices and policies.
By the end of the first year, you will have had multiple donor meetings (virtual or in person), closed a number of new planned gifts, established a solid network of colleagues at both UDAR and UCSF, successfully positioned yourself as an expert on planned giving and planned giving-related issues, be thoroughly conversant with UCSF structure, practices and policies, and you will have worked closely with a variety of external and internal partners to solicit and close a significant number of meaningful gifts.
