Job Purpose

Group Finance Platform (GFP) aims to be a solid partner to the finance function and other parts of the bank that uses the various systems owned by the GFP team. Within the GFP team, Data Hub plays a key role in sourcing/curating data from different upstream product systems and ensuring all of Finance community receives proper quality assured data.

Group Finance has embarked on a multi year project to combine/consolidate key systems that provide primary data to Finance via the One Finance Platform program. This program consists of multiple modules and the purpose of this job position of a Data Specialist is to own Data Onboarding to One Finance Platform.

You will lead a team of Business Analysts/Data Analysts, work closely with different Hubs within Finance to understand data requirements and with upstream product systems like Finacle, Imex, Murex etc, to understand how these datapoints are captured and onboard them into One Finance Platform.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong understanding of Finance datapoints and its usage within Finance community.
  • Be the go-to person for all data sourcing requirements within Finance.
  • Responsible for assessing the impact when there is change request and work with technology partners to build the data pipeline and testing.
  • Work with hubs/Group Finance colleagues to identify data requirements.
  • Work with different upstream product systems to understand data capture and to source them into One Finance Platform.
  • Work with peers who would be owning other Group Finance Platform applications - viz., Hyperion/HFM/Data Ledger/Pre-GL Engine/EPM etc.
  • Work with the Middle Office Technology teams to articulate the data requirements, work with them to come up with data sourcing strategy.
  • Work closely with the MOT project team implementing OFP Sub Ledger.
  • Work with the principal stakeholders would be the data consumers across various countries/group teams.
  • Prepare proper documentation on the data points sourced from different upstream product systems, dataflow, design and its usage by different Finance Hubs.
  • Lead the Biz change team in coming up with the testing approach and facilitate the UAT.
  • Support user community on business queries and guidance on better usage of the system.
Requirements
  • Quick learner, with positive attitude towards initiating and making change happen.
  • Driven/passionate, self-starter, highly competent and able to work independently.
  • Experience in leading teams that are the fore front of change.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and a strong customer focused approach.
  • Eye for detail and diligence in documentation.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Fundamental accounting knowledge around banking products.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience of working in the financial services industry.
  • Prior experience working in a banking industry would be preferred.
  • Familiar with working in the financial systems space in the DBS organizational context would be an added advantage.
  • Accounting degree with a fundamental knowledge around banking products.
  • Business degree with Accounting/Finance major with a fundamental knowledge around banking products.
  • Information Systems major with a fundamental knowledge around banking products.
