Bloomberg runs on data and technology. In our Data department, we are responsible for on-boarding, analyzing, applying, and supplying it so our clients can make informed decisions from a global perspective.
The Entities team is responsible for providing legal entity master data for over 6 million public and private companies. Our data sets include corporate structure, descriptive data, identification, and classification. Entity data is utilized both on and off the Bloomberg terminal, so we frequently work with sales and enterprise to conduct calls to provide clients background on how we acquire, validate, maintain, and provide quality assurance for our data sets.
What you'll do:
The specialist will be responsible for adding, maintaining, and providing quality assurance for specialized information in the entity database. The specialist will also work with clients, utilizing new technology to expand the depth of data coverage, improve data quality, and reduce our time to market. Additionally, the specialist will be able to communicate our process to stakeholders, partners, and other data teams globally. They will be highly motivated and excel at collaborating with colleagues in a team environment.
We'll trust you to:
- Monitor & process entity level data related to company corporate events
- Perform risk assessments on both public and private entities
- Create, implement and test internal controls
- Train internal stakeholders
- Research corporate hierarchy documentation
- Respond to client queries regarding the data and product functionality
- Process escalation requests to resolve data discrepancies
- Assist sales and product managers on client calls
- Examine processes and provide improvement recommendations
You'll need to have:
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Law or equivalent work experience
- Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent Communication, Analytical and Customer Service skills
- Ability to interact with clients within the financial industry
- Commitment to enhancing and developing products
- Experience with Python, SQL or Java a plus
- Secondary language a plus
