As a Cloud Data Engineer on the Client Data team, you will help shape PIMCO's data architecture
Build data pipelines and data models to support Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Science use-cases
Build revers ETL pipelines to make data warehouse data available in operational systems
Design, develop and maintain the warehouse, automate manual processes, optimize data delivery for reporting and re-design infrastructure for greater scalability
Collaborate with other technology teams to source data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Airflow, DBT, Fivetran and Python
Research data questions, identify root causes and interact closely with analysts and other engineers
Define and build metadata and data quality rules associated with data pipelines
Integrate solution with data governance tools
Contribute to advancing the team's design methodology and engineering best practices.
Collaborate with BI engineers, data engineers, product managers and data analysts to assist with data-related technical issues, migrations, upgrades and infrastructure needs.
Strong knowledge of the Snowflake ecosystem
3+ year experience designing highly scalable ELT/reverse ETL processes with complex data transformations, data formats including error handling and monitoring.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college/university
Experience with projects relating to cloud modernization, data migration, data warehousing in enterprise space
Cloud Certification (AWS) would be advantageous
Strong programming skills using Python, SQL
Source control tools such as Git
Solid understanding of database design, architectural principles and methodologies
Ability to work independently, with attention to detail.
Strong decision-making skills, problem resolution, negotiation, and decision-making skills
Effectively communicates technical actions and expectations to the appropriate partners
