Our client is a successful independent private equity fund backed exclusively by family-owned companies as investors. As an active investor, they pursue opportunities in the lower mid-cap space with an emphasis on value-creation agenda. They target companies with a turnover of EUR 25-200m, with growth potential, an established market position and independent management teams. Their distinctive investor base enables them to adopt a long-term view, and offers portfolio companies capital, expertise and access to a wide industrial and strategic network.
The firm's core market is the DACH region but for several years they have also been building momentum in the Scandinavian market and have completed a significant number of successful investments already. They are now looking to recruit at Investment Manager level to add dedicated resource focused on this attractive regional market. The position will be based in the firm's existing Munich office but will naturally involve a significant amount of travel into the Nordic countries.
Sourcing and analysis of deal flow, management of due diligence, structuring / financing, negotiations and execution end to end, especially aimed at the Nordics
Creation and implementation of value creation initiatives to optimise the portfolio companies through to exit
Strategic development of the business and the wider group with particular focus on the Nordics
An experienced mid-level direct investor with initial professional experience gained at a top tier investment bank or consultancy firm, followed by meaningful direct private equity investment exposure in one or more of the key Nordic markets
Active local network of advisers and entrepreneurs, together with the confidence and drive to drive new business development and secure attractive investment opportunities
Relationship-led approach, effective at winning the trust of founders and managers, able to influence and create genuine cultural points of difference to rival firms
Outstanding commercial judgement and high degree of execution competence
Strong drive, self-motivation and yearning to have a lasting impact. The role would be on a clear partner track, so you need to demonstrate ambition and credibility for this step-up medium term
Native Swedish or Danish and fluent English language skills are a must. Given the need to commit long-term to the Munich office location, a reasonable level of spoken German is desirable and / or willingness to pick this up rapidly
