A well-established, dynamic, forward thinking, financial advisory practice is seeking an Associate Financial Advisor to join its Private Wealth Advisory team in St Joseph, Michigan. Everett, Schalk & Associates is a thriving financial planning practice dedicated to serving clients' overall financial health and wellness. The practice has been part of a small resort community along the coast of Lake Michigan in Southwest Michigan for over 30 years. We serve 500 clients with 300 million in client assets. Current team includes 3 lead advisors with around 30 years' experience each, one associate advisor, and two full time client service staff.
This is an opportunity for a highly qualified candidate to walk into a mature and defined practice with the intention to learn, grow and be part of the legacy of the business. The role is designed for a candidate that sees the value in working side by side with experienced, driven, and dedicated financial advisors to build relationships with the current client base and build capacity for future client acquisition.
We offer a 401K, vacation and holiday pay, health insurance, a possible transition into franchisee role, as well as bonus opportunities. This position does require working in the office and therefore, remote work is not an option.
As an experienced advisor coming into our mature practice your primary roles are:
Partner with the employing franchise owner to facilitate transitioning specific clients in the client base to you in which you will service.
Heavy emphasis on deepening existing client relationships through financial planning.
Leverage Everett, Schalk & Associates and broader Ameriprise marketing tools to attract and acquire new clientele.
Keep in mind this is a small business which will provide you opportunities to respond to ad hoc requests, and to coordinate and track projects
Strong possibility to transition franchise ownership to client focused and business minded AFA in the next 4-7 years.
Strong ethics and high integrity

Entrepreneurial perspective and desire to grow the business
Ability to meet with clients, listen and build long term relationships
Experience in an office setting, working with a team preferably in the Financial Services industry
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Highly organized, and accurate
Efficient time manager with ability to multi-task, and manage and prioritize request
Great attention to detail, with ability to see how multiple small details function together for a greater whole
Proven analytical and independent problem-solving skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Current client base a plus but not required
Bachelor's degree or higher
Series 7, Series 66, State Life, Accident and Health insurance licenses
3-5+ years of experience as a financial advisor
