Job Summary
The Real Estate and Facilities Department is looking for a Project Manager to manage and coordinate plan, budget, schedule, design, bid, all construction furnishings and relocation requirements of new construction and renovation projects. Assuring compliance with all Federal, State and local building codes and hospital life safety requirements for BCH.
This Senior Facilities Engineering Project Manager will be responsible to:- Plan and manage hospital infrastructure construction and renovation projects in excess of $500,000. Prepare cost estimates, schedules, correspondence, contracts and purchase requisitions for assigned projects.
- Serve as Project Manager for designated projects, supervising all aspects of project including reviewing and monitoring costs and establishing and maintaining completion schedules. Manage consultants and contractors.
- Oversee and work with engineering consultants and contractors on planning, design and implementation.
- Coordinate/monitor construction documentation/progress on a daily basis. Inspect and coordinate construction, telecommunication, security, data processing, furniture, moving requirements, signage and landscaping. Monitor and maintain shop drawings/submittals to ensure compliance with hospital construction building standards and federal, state and local standards.
- Participate in the resolution of sensitive regulatory and code compliance issues and other similar matters. Response to complaints and concerns from departments affected by construction in the absence of the Director.
- Ensure and review the project's close out materials. Ensure all punch list items are complete, lien waivers and final payments are completed.
- Establish, manage and maintain project files thru the Facilities Engineering tracking system. Review documentation, justify and/or resolves record deficiencies as needed.
- Assist in maintaining directory of past and prospective Hospital Contractors, identify and recommend firms for consideration on contract bids. Notify contractors of Hospital Safety, Security, Sanitation and noise standards and ensures compliance.
- Interview and recommend shop personnel selection. Train and orient staff on Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, job duties and standards including systems, equipment and materials. Monitor employee work performance, providing feedback and initiating disciplinary action when necessary.
- Provide leadership, performs monitoring and assessment and development of the building and grounds group operations and services. Manage the ongoing operations of the Facility Engineering Dept in the absence of the Director of Facility Engineering
To qualify, you must have:- The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field and 5-7 years of previous experience.
- The analytical skills to resolve scientific, clinical, hr, legal, financial, or admin problems that require the innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge and/or develop financial and operating plans for one of the hospital's major departments/divisions.
